OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of this project was to demonstrate the potential of the stunt industry, highlighting the expertise and creativity of 87North, a renowned stunt direction company. The goal was to create an immersive and thrilling experience for spectators at a red carpet event, showcasing the exciting and dynamic world of stunts while ensuring the safety of both the talent and the audience.

CHALLENGE
The challenge was multifaceted. Executing stunts that involved fire and high-speed movements required meticulous planning to ensure the safety of everyone involved. The team had to work with live fire and other hazardous elements, which posed significant risks. Additionally, the event took place on a red carpet, which presented unique challenges. The stunts needed to be impressive yet safe to perform on a carpeted surface without causing damage or posing hazards. It was also crucial to create an experience that was not only safe but also visually stunning and engaging for the audience. The stunts needed to be close enough to the spectators to be immersive, yet distant enough to avoid any danger.

STRATEGY
To address these challenges, 87North employed several strategic measures. Comprehensive safety protocols were developed and strictly enforced. Fire safety experts were consulted to determine what was permissible and safe for the event. Fire-resistant materials were used where necessary, and fire extinguishers were strategically placed. K-rails (concrete barriers) were installed to protect the audience from the stunts, ensuring that high-speed bike stunts could be performed close to the spectators without risking their safety. Designated stunt areas were clearly marked and controlled, allowing the stunt performers to execute their routines within a safe perimeter, minimizing the risk of accidents. Close coordination with the talent was essential, and each stunt was rehearsed multiple times to ensure that all participants were comfortable with their roles and aware of the safety measures in place.
RESULT
The event was a resounding success, with the client extremely pleased with the outcome. It showcased the potential of the stunt industry in a way that was both exciting and safe. Spectators were wowed by the immersive stunts, as the close proximity of the action, combined with robust safety measures, created an exhilarating experience without compromising safety. This successful execution illustrated that stunts could be safely integrated into various venues, including red carpet events, without sacrificing the thrill and excitement they bring.
